Shopping Tips
Tips while Dress Shopping
A few tips to help you whether you are looking for a wedding dress, Mother of the Bride, Bridesmaid, or any formal wear, here are some things you may want to think about before you come in to try on dresses.Â
- Â Make an Appointment. Though here at Bazzle Bridal, walk-ins are welcome, we always prefer if you book an appointment. This is for your benefit because it allows your stylist to better know what you personally are looking for, and they can pull together something they think you would love!
- Create a Budget. Even if your budget is “no budget,” don’t forget about accessories, alterations, and undergarments (if needed). These items do add up and we don’t want them to catch you off guard once you find the dress. We want to help you have a stress free dress shopping experience!
- Undergarments. Plan on wearing nude/skin tone undergarments for your appointment, some bright colors may to stand out under the white fabric depending on the design of the dress. While it may seem strange, most wedding dress do not need a bra to be warn with them because of the design of the dress, though you are welcome to wear one during your appointment if it makes you most comfortable, you also do not have to wear one. During alterations you can further decide if you want shapewear, it is not something that needs to be decided up front if you do not already have what you are looking for.Â
- Shoes. If you already know what shoes you will be wearing to your wedding, feel free to bring them so you can see the dress and shoe together! If you don’t have shoes yet, don’t worry! You do not need to have them chosen right away. Feel free to keep your regular shoes on, be in socks, or go barefoot for your appointment! Whatever you are most comfortable with is perfect!
- Invite the Right People. While the day is a very fun and exciting event, be careful when inviting friends and family to your appointment. Too many opinions can be overwhelming; be sure to choose the people who you value their opinion and not only their presence. With this being said, our space can comfortably hold 6+ guest, so feel free to invite as little or as many people as you would like!
- Take Notes! Document the appointment as you go, have someone with you write down how you feel in each dress, your expression when you first put it on, what you did and didn’t like about it, and be sure to take good pictures of each dress so you can see it again after you take it off. In the end, it will help in the decision making process, and will be a fun keepsake for later!
- You hold the power to say, “Yes!” Your dress is a reflection of you, even if the dress checks off everything you had on the “must have” list, it may not feel like you have found the one yet. Try styles you wouldn’t normally try on and you might just fall in love with a dress you’d never expect! This is your wedding dress, your bridal appointment, and it’s okay to make at least one day all about you! Don’t feel pressure to say, “yes” or, “no” by others around you, but say, “yes” to what feels right to you!Â
- Plan for the Alterations Process. Most wedding dresses do require alterations to have the perfect fit. At Bazzle Bridal, we suggest your alterations be done about 1 month before your wedding date so that it gives the least amount of time for your body to change before the big day. Though other bridal shops may use a different time frame, we want what is best for our brides and will work with whatever time frame you desire!
- Have Fun! Finding “The Dress” may feel like a stressful and daunting task to check off the to-do list before your wedding, but don’t forget to have fun in the process! At Bazzle Bridal, we are here to help make the process a relaxing and stress-free experience. If there is anything that you have questions about, please don’t hesitate to reach out in your preferred method of contact, such as email, phone, text, DM, or in-person and we will try our very best to answer any question you may have! Happy shopping!!Â
